Islamic Ministry trains 804 imams from 19 atolls
Ministry of Islamic Affairs has revealed that it has trained 804 imams from 19 atolls under the Imam Refresher Programme. This nationwide initiative, organised by the ministry, is aimed at providing additional training for full-time imams across 11 regions.
In Addu City, 68 imams participated in the programme and successfully completed it, bringing the total number of trained imams to 804. The ministry stated that nine subjects will be taught during the programme, including, Holy Quran, Tajweed, Tafsir, Fiqh, Hadith, and Aqidah and other essential skills. It is also designed to help build strong and responsible personalities, equipping individuals to effectively manage mosque responsibilities.
The ministry has set a target of training 700 imams by the end of the year under this programme.
