Tourist Arrival Numbers Cross 2023 Figures
Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal has announced that the Maldives’ tourist arrival numbers have surpassed the previous year’s arrival figures.
In 2023, the island nation hosted 1.87 million tourists. The Maldives has already crossed last year’s figure, with 1.88 million arrivals recorded as of now, and 23 days still remaining in the year.
Statistics indicate that an average of 5,700 tourists visit the Maldives daily during the current period. With the influx of tourists for the tourism peak season, the Maldives is on track to achieve its goal of hosting 2 million tourists by the end of the year.
On surpassing the previous year’s arrival record, Minister Faisal credited the achievement to the hard work and relentless efforts of the tourism industry.
Currently, the top source markets for Maldives tourism are China, Russia, the United Kingdom (UK), Germany, and Italy.
