President vows that gov’t will always stand with residents, seeking justice and prosperity
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to stand by the side of residents, seeking justice and prosperity. In a social media post, President Dr. Muizzu emphasised that it would be evident to all residents which political figures are working against the well-being and progress of residents. He assured the public that his administration will continue its efforts to secure justice and prosperity for all citizens of the nation. President Dr. Muizzu’s statement come at a time when the government’s ongoing reforms, aimed at addressing the current financial and economic challenges, have faced criticism from certain parties. Among the reforms introduced are measures requiring companies that earn revenue in foreign currency to pay taxes in foreign currency, broadening the tax base, and restructuring the subsidy distribution system.
