
President Muizzu Inaugurates Innamaadhoo’s New Volleyball Court
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday inaugurated the new volleyball court in Innamaadhoo, Raa Atoll during his ongoing tour of several islands of Raa Atoll.
The President had met with Innamaadhoo residents on Wednesday evening, pledging special focus on establishing sports facilities for youth development.
Following the volleyball court inauguration, President Muizzu had inspected the facility.
Innamaadhoo is renowned for volleyball enthusiasts and has in recent years hosted several regional volleyball tournaments in the island.
The volleyball court project in Innamaadhoo had stalled before this government resumed the project vowing to complete it within two years. The government has given special emphasis to complete such stalled sports infrastructure projects across the country.
The government last year, spent USD16.5 million on renovation and development of sports infrastructure throughout the Maldives.
