President Muizzu and Estonia’s Parliament President Discuss Digital Collaboration and Bilateral Relations

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu attended a luncheon hosted by the President of the Parliament of Estonia, Lauri Hussar, where both leaders discussed strengthening ties and exploring digital collaboration between the two nations.

Upon arrival at the Parliament of Estonia, Riigikogu, President Dr Muizzu was warmly received by President Hussar. The two leaders posed for an official photograph to commemorate the historic visit before President Muizzu signed the Visitors’ Book and proceeded to the luncheon.

During the lunch, the leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations and exploring avenues for collaboration between the two countries. President Muizzu outlined his developmental agenda for the Maldives, emphasising his commitment to digitalising various sectors to improve public services. He also noted similarities between the Maldives and Estonia, highlighting opportunities for mutual cooperation to achieve shared goals.

Parliament President Hussar shared insights on Estonia’s advancements in digital governance, including the e-voting and other innovative technologies.

The discussion concluded with a shared concern about issues compromising international peace and security, and a renewed commitment to work together in the multilateral arena.
