Pakistani High Commissioner Presents Credentials to President Dr Muizzu
Vice Admiral (Retired) Faisal Rasul Lodhi, the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the Maldives, officially presented his Letters of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu during a ceremony held on Monday morning at the President’s Office.
The High Commissioner was escorted from Republic Square to the President’s Office in a cultural procession known as “Haiykolhu,” accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
Upon presenting his Letters of Credence, the High Commissioner was warmly welcomed by President Dr Muizzu, who accepted the credentials and officially recognised Vice Admiral Lodhi as the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the Maldives.
Following the formal presentation, the President and the High Commissioner engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including climate change, health, tourism, and trade, according to a statement released by the President’s Office.
The High Commissioner also commended President Dr Muizzu and the Maldives for their steadfast support for the people of Palestine, as noted in the President’s Office statement.
