Maldives Explores Investment Opportunities with Oman
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel has met with Sultan bin Salim bin Said Al Habsi, the Minister of Finance of Oman, to discuss investment opportunities in the Maldives. The meeting was held as part of Minister Khaleel’s ongoing visit to the Sultanate of Oman, which commenced on 10 December.
Their discussions revolved around potential investment opportunities, development policies, and strategies to enhance cooperation between the two countries, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Foreign Minister Khaleel is visiting Oman at the invitation of Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi. During his visit, Minister Khaleel also met with Foreign Minister Albusaidi to discuss strengthening Maldives-Oman ties through trade, tourism, education cooperation, and investment promotion while enhancing people-to-people contact.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Minister Khaleel is slated to meet with additional Omani government officials to further explore avenues for enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation.
Minister Khaleel’s visit is set to conclude on 13 December. He is accompanied by Dr Hala Hameed, Secretary, Bilateral, and Fathimath Naeema, Senior Under Secretary at the Foreign Ministry.
