First Lady concludes her official visit to Tanzania

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has concluded her official visit to Tanzania, and has returned to the Maldives. She undertook the official visit to Tanzania, to participate in the 11th Edition of the Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary Annual Conference as the Guest of Honour. The conference took place from October 29-30. During the conference, First Lady Sajidha delivered a keynote address at the High-Level First Ladies Panel, and also made an intervention at the Merck Foundation First Ladies Initiative (MFFLI) Committee Meeting. Her addresses primarily focused on the crucial importance of global unity and collaboration to advance healthcare, women empowerment and education. The First Lady also highlighted the Maldives’ efforts to address the increase in non-communicable diseases (NCDs) within the nation This year’s Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary conference convened healthcare professionals, policymakers, and academics for in-depth discussions on advancing women’s empowerment, enhancing disease management, and expanding access to quality healthcare across Africa and Asia.
