Aasandha Urges Public to Report Issues with Drug Availability Under Aasandha
The Aasandha Company Limited has asked the public to report any cases where prescription drugs are not dispensed under the national health insurance scheme, Aasandha, or if any payments are required for medicines covered by the scheme.
The company’s request comes amid public concern that prescription drugs are no longer unavailable under the Aasandha scheme due to recent changes brought by the government to drug pricing.
Under efforts to address issues within the Aasandha system, the government regulated the drug prices in November last year. The price reduction was applied to the 250 most expensive drugs issued under Aasandha.
According to Aasandha, the company has been receiving complaints about individuals facing difficulties in obtaining prescribed medicines under Aasandha following changes to the pricing. Therefore, if any out-of-pocket payment is required for medicines covered by the scheme, the company has asked the public to report the cases.
