The President extends condolences to the family of Late Abdul Majeed Mahir

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Late Abdul Majeed Mahir. In a post on his official ‘X’ account, the President described the late Abdul Majeed Mahir as a respected, caring, and honourable citizen of the Maldives and a friend whose loss he deeply feels, having shared many personal moments with him.

In his social media post, the President expressed deep sadness upon learning of the passing of Abdul Majid Mahir.

The Late Abdul Majeed Mahir, who served as president of the Municipal Council and held prominent roles in several government departments, was a respected figure. President Muizzu, like many others, deeply admired his dedication and contributions. He was not only a Maldivian traditional medicine expert but also a cherished father who ensured that today’s generation remained connected to the history and traditions of the Maldives.President Dr Muizzu sought solace for the bereaved family during this difficult time and expressed his hope that they would find strength and healing in the coming days. The President concluded his message by praying to Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant the Late Abdul Majeed Mahir’s soul eternal peace in Jannah.
