President invites Azerbaijan to increase investments in Maldives
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has invited Azerbaijan to increase investments to the Maldives. He extended this invitation during a meeeting held with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the COP29. During the meeting, President Dr. Muizzu thanked President Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s efficient hosting of COP29 and the hospitality shown to the Maldivian delegation. He highlighted the recent introduction of direct flights between the two countries, and expressed interest in increasing Azerbaijani investments in the Maldives. In response, President Aliyev expressed interest in enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries. He commended the Maldives leadership in climate change and appreciated the President Dr. Muizzu’s active participation at COP29. Furthermore, both presidents reaffirmed their commitment to make COP29 a successful platform for advancing global climate action and cooperation.
